Love Scorpion’s Update?

Mortal Kombat 11 Drops Mixed Reaction Updates to Characters

Mortal Kombat 11 has just released their standard updates to their fighting characters in hopes of adding smoothness and elevating their fighters during gameplay. However due to players already prating and be adjusted to their favorite fighters, the updates may either please or upset players with their main faves. The updates can either help a player be more pro with their fighter or make them more susceptible to damage caused by competitors. During this recent update, one classic character’s changes ended up causing a huge stir.

Scorpion is by far one of the top classic characters from the Mortal Kombat Series causing him to be a top main character for players to choose. Since he has been around for a long time with classic moves pretty much memorized by any major Mortal Kombat players, his new updates were a tad of a surprise. To start off with, his Hell Port and Air Hell Port have now been changed to high attack instead of its usual mid-attack making it easier for others to avoid now. This move was naturally very difficult for others to block making it a top unstoppable combo for Scorpion mains to use. Now all competitors would have to do is duck and they can avoid Scorpion’s attack and proceed onto their next move. This did not go over well with Scorpion users because now one of their main combos no longer has the power it did before. But on the other side of things, users who usually go up against Scorpion (i.e. me) were happy for this change. Now I’m not necessarily saying I’m happy, but I will say I’ve had my butt kicked by Scorpion many times with the Hell Port used against me.

Some have the found the update to make Scorpion a less strong character while others think he was an extra powerful character with the update making him more balance and giving others a better fighting chance. It goes both ways and we will see how these updates hold up or possibly change again. Use of Scorpion could lower causing NetherRealm to go back to the drawing board. I completely understand where Scorpion mains might be coming from because I probably feel some type of way if my Kitana combos were altered as well. Yes I am a Kitana main. I do love Jade which is also my middle name, but Kitana will always be my first love. I digress however, and could say that I’m still even getting use to the changes NetherRealm placed from Mortal Kombat X to Mortal Kombat 11. All in all Mortal Kombat is a classic game, the first video game I ever played actually, but will continuously find ways to improve and evolve over time to keep us fighters on our toes.

How do you feel about Scorpion’s changes? What other characters are your go-to fighters? Were you excited for the return of NightWolf.
