Falling in Love at PAX
So I know I’ve been a little MIA, but I have very good reason to be. With the pandemic, it has been difficult getting inspired for new content, finding things to do, and finding work, but there has been one new thing added to my list and it’s planning a wedding. Yes, that is right I am getting married. My fiancĂ© and I are planning a small micro wedding with our close family next January near our anniversary. So how did all of this come about you ask; well sit back and please enjoy a little bit of my love story.

Everything happens for a reason and what happened to me completely caught me off guard. As some of you might have read, earlier this year I attended my first PAX South. It was my first convention ever so I didn’t have many expectations, but was hoping to meet new friends and connections. Well, I ended up with sooooo much more. I attended one of the panels at PAX called PAX 101 which was supposed to be for newbies like me and give us a chance to meet others. The panel did not go quite as planned.
In the description they claimed there would be an icebreaker and a chance to meet with each other which never really happened. Instead, a panel of four people just went on and on about their own experiences. No offense to them, but that was not really what I was hoping to get. When it was over, I got up and left to go downstairs for some food when something else happened. A boy noticed me. He noticed I was dressed as Kitana and thought I would be interesting to talk to, but atlas he said nothing. Thanks to my resting b**** face, he thought I didn’t want to be bothered. Just my luck, right.
We didn’t speak to each other at all that day and didn’t bump into each other again. However, I found a Facebook group for PAX South where I posted asking for any pictures of me in my cosplay. He found my post and decided to comment and then send me a message. Thanks to the power of social media, we were able to find each other and planned a day to actually meet. Both of us only expected to find a friend. I had just ended a relationship and was only looking to make friends. He was new to the city and wanted to meet new people. Little did we know we would find each other’s life partner.
After hanging out a few times a week, we finally admitted our feelings to each other and made it official. But then quarantine happened… This didn’t end up raining on our parade as we ended up in quarantine together which let me tell you is like the ultimate speed dating. He was able to meet my family, we spent a lot of time together, and it was just easy for us. His lease was ending soon and he asked Crow and me to move in with him. There was no doubt in my mind and before I knew it we were packing up boxes and moving into our little home.

From the outside perspective, everything happened so fast, but to us, everything made sense and was just easy. We talked about getting married and making our little family permanent. So just like that, he put a ring on my finger and asked me to be his wife.
I have been living a little nerdy love dream with all the love and support I could ever want. It’s completely unreal and I feel so lucky to have met my life partner. It proved to me anything could happen and when you least expect it.

Thank you guys for letting me share a little bit of my life with you. It has been difficult for me to find the motivation to write new content. With so many movies not coming out and such little to do, I’ve been a bit discouraged. But I am trying to keep my spirits up and get back on the horse slowly.
